Support the creation and implementation of print and digital promotions. Attend trade shows and conventions to attract business. Liaise with sport event organizers and City departments, hoteliers and other tourism stakeholders to ensure successful sport events.       KEY RESPONSIBILITIES   OPERATION SUPPORT: - Responsible for assessing and recommending sport tourism event opportunities utilizing City of Brampton and Canadian Sport Tourism Association criteria. - Develop and maintain print and digital sports marketing materials and sports calendars. - Responsible for the management of Sport Tourism Hosting Program including call for applications, application review facilitation, recommendations to Director of Strategic Communications, Culture & Events and notification to applicants. - Act as liaison between sport event organizers and City of Brampton departments, Brampton accommodation providers and other tourism stakeholders. - Evaluate and report on sport event performance using industry recognized calculators. - Manage relationships with accommodation providers in Brampton in support of tourism initiatives and Municipal Accommodation Tax implementation and maintenance. - Assist with the development and implementation of the City of Brampton sport tourism strategy. - Develop and contribute content for the production of the annual Visitor Guide, social media and website. - Develop sport tourism product in conjunction with appropriate internal and external stakeholders, i.e. cycling, trails and pathways, etc. - Support City of Brampton initiatives including half-marathon and 10k runs, GT20 cricket, etc.STAFF SUPERVISION   - Assess and monitor performance and discipline as required to meet operational needs. - Supervise staff, prioritize and organize daily work direction to meet operational needs. - Coach, mentor and provide guidance and training as required to meet operational needs. - Participate in recruitment and hiring process as required to meet operational needs. CUSTOMER SERVICE  - Liaise with staff, community groups, organizations and contractors in a professional manner. - Handle and resolve issues and enquiries to meet corporate service standards. Take a look at what employees are working on related to our Term of Council Priorities moving us forward towards The Brampton 2040 Vision.     TEMPORARY SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD     Reporting to the Supervisor, Crossing Guards, this position is responsible to safely escort pedestrians, as defined in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) across roadways at designated school crossings by monitoring traffic flow gaps and assuming right of way, while adhering to regulations, policies and procedures.   - Control and obey all regulations, policies and procedures to ensure pedestrians are safely assisted at designated school crossings. - Provide exceptional customer service to the public, ensuring safe crossing rules are communicated clearly, followed and reinforced as required. - Document and communicate all incidents and/or unsafe conditions to management, school officials and/or Peel Regional Police. - Adhere to emergency vehicle right of way, ensuring they have priority over both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. - Comply with all safety requirements by using and wearing all required safety equipment and clothing. - Assist in training new crossing guards as required.
