HOURLY RATE $18.53

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

Provides program and administrative support to the Corporate Policy Team (CPT), assisting in day-to-day duties. Supports the effective delivery of services and responds to general inquiries received by the section. This role will support the CPT in preparing reports, presentations, policy guides, and templates while supporting the coordination and tracking of policy development.

    • Respond to department inquiries/concerns and provide information regarding programs and services and escalate to appropriate City staff as required.
    • Assist in drafting briefing notes, reports and developing presentation materials for internal employees.
    • Provide administrative support including physical and electronic filing, preparing memos, and formatting reports.
    • Maintain records, documentation, and prepare reports as required.
    • Providing tools and resources to different sectors for sectional workflow procedures.
    • Assist with data entry, tracking, maintaining data integrity and collaborating on sectional programs.
    • Maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
    • Understand and adhere to Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards.
    • Attend meetings and training as required.
    • Work well within diverse groups in support of operational goals and objectives.
    • Demonstrate corporate values at all times.
    • Participate as a member of cross-functional team.
    • Provide support/backup as necessary.

SELECTION CRITERIA:  

 

EDUCATION: 

    • Working towards a degree or diploma in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, Law or equivalent or a similar discipline, or have a related experience or interest.

OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS: 

    • Demonstrated working knowledge of corporate policy specific principles.
    • Effective customer service skills and communication skills.
    • Effective time management and organizational skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
