JOB TITLE:   Traffic Street Light Technical Assistant

DEPARTMENT:  Public Works and Engineering 

NUMBER OF POSITIONS:  1 

JOB STATUS & DURATION:  Temporary 4-months  

HOURS OF WORK:  35 hour workweek

LOCATION:  Williams Parkway Operations 

HOURLY RATE $21.87

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

The Street Light Technical Assistant is tasked with assisting both the Street Light Technical and Inspection staff with their duties as required utilizing the Work Order management software as well as by completing work in the field as required

 

Field Activities

    • Inspections of Related Traffic Assets and Contractor Activities
    • Verification and Photographing of Existing Field Infrastructure
    • Conducting Field Measurements and Related Studies
    • Validation of Service Request Information
    • Assisting Staff on Various Field Projects
    • Delivery of Notices to Residents within Project Limit

Data Entry, Review and Reporting Activities

    • Data Entry into Corporate Software
    • Review, Verification and Updating of Corporate Records
    • Preparation and Creation of Supporting Documentation and Corporate Reports
    • Compilation of Deficiency and Work Order Lists
    • Assisting Staff with the Creation of Financial Documents

Administrative Duties

    • Assist Staff with Auditing of Records and Invoices
    • Scanning, Photocopying and Printing of Corporate Documents
    • Updating, Maintaining and Distributing Corporate Documents
    • Creation of Work Orders and/or Asset Tags for Internal and External Partners
    • Providing Internal and External Customer Service by Responding to Residential Inquiries

 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:  

 

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

    • A valid G or G2 Driver’s License

 

EDUCATION: 

    • Electrical Technologist program or equivalent

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS: 

    • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CAD and GIS software;
    • General Knowledge of Highway Traffic Act and Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7;
    • Strong Computer and Interpersonal Skills.
