JOB TITLE: Program Administration Officer 

DEPARTMENT:  Office of the CAO  

NUMBER OF POSITIONS:  1

JOB STATUS & DURATION:  Temporary 4 months  

WORK TERM: May 4, 2026 - August 21, 2026

HOURS OF WORK:  35 hour workweek  

LOCATION:  City Hall  

HOURLY RATE $22.92

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

  • Provide program assistance and support for divisional initiatives, programs, processes, projects, and events.
  • Respond to inquiries/concerns and provide information regarding programs and services to meet departmental service standards.
  • Independently fulfills administrative and program duties related to the work area, including correspondence, documentation, minute-taking, preparing memos and reports, and presentations.
  • Supports project leads in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating departmental policies, programs, and special events.
  • Participates in working groups and brainstorming sessions to provide input, ideas, insights
  • Assist with data entry and management.
  • Perform qualitative/quantitative research and analysis in a technical and/or specialized discipline to identify trends, industry best practices, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to complete projects, where applicable.
  • Prepares project and program updates for review by management.
  • Maintain confidentiality based on the requirement to access and maintain sensitive sectional or departmental and organizational communication, reports, materials and records.
  • Maintain an understanding of divisional programs and services.
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:  

 

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Students must be enrolled in a university or college. Proof of enrollment letter will be requested prior to the job offer.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS: 

  • Interest working in a City government
  • Understands local municipal issues impacting the residents of Brampton
  • Student must be currently enrolled in a university or college program.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of discipline-specific principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Possess strong computer skills, e.g., MS Office programs, including MS Word and Excel.
