JOB TITLE:  Specialized Fitness Instructor III - Summer 2025

DEPARTMENT:  Community Services

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 3

JOB STATUS & DURATION:  Part time

HOURS OF WORK:  24 hour workweek / variable hours flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required

STARTING SALARY:  Zumba - Step 88 $41.93 per hour 

                                     Yoga  - Step 8 $44.34 per hour

                                     Pilates - Step 10 $49.58 per hour

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

 

Reporting to the Programmer/Coordinator, the Specialized Fitness Instructor III is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a high quality program that is stimulating and enjoyable for all participants. Responsible for the safety and well-being of participants at all times.

  • Plan, organize and deliver high quality safe and stimulating lessons for all levels of participants
  • Keep current with industry trends and class formats
  • Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation
  • Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participants
  • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g. attendance, incident/accident reports)
  • Maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately
  • Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor and take appropriate action
  • Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
  • Attend meetings/training as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Valid specialized certification by accredited organization in field of discipline
  • Demonstrate ability during practical assessment
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills

 

**Preference will be given to students that have a permanent residency in Brampton.

 

**Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.
