NUMBER OF POSITIONS:  To Be Confirmed

JOB STATUS & DURATION:  May 2025 - August 2025 (4 months)

HOURS OF WORK:  35-hour workweek variable hours

LOCATION:  Hybrid Model – when working onsite, you will report to the location of City Hall or West Tower

HOURLY RATE:  $17.20 - $22.40 per hour

JOB TYPE:  Management and Administration

POSTING DATE:  January 20, 2025

CLOSING DATE:  February 28, 2025

Summer Student work term and pay

As a Summer Student, you’ll receive:

    • A competitive hourly rate

Timeline

    • February 28, 2025 – Posting expires
    • February/March 2025 – Screening and interviewing
    • March/April 2025 – Officer and packages will be emailed
    • May 2025 – First day of work for post-secondary students
    • June 2025 – First day of work for secondary students

Opportunities

We have various opportunities for you to choose from – Business Support (Project Administration Officer, Youth Development Coordinator, Research Officer) for multiple City Departments.

 

Here's some examples of tasks you may expect to perform:

    • Work with colleagues on day-to day tasks and special projects.
    • Assist with key business initiatives and process improvement initiatives.
    • Data gathering and reporting - helping with analysis, project reporting (both internal and external) documents and synthesizing information.
    • Tool/Template development - assist in building project management tools, templates, and databases.
    • Tracking and monitoring program, department initiatives.
    • Work with colleagues in the planning, development and execution of events.
    • Assist in the development of events and initiatives.
    • Support with planning, marketing/outreach for events and initiatives and assistance with project administration.
    • Data gathering and reporting - helping with analysis, project reporting (both internal and external) documents and synthesizing information.
    • Assist in meeting prep: taking minutes, reviewing with organizer, publishing documents, tracking action logs, etc.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

 

    • You must be enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution and returning to full time studies in September 2025
    • Be available to work from May 2025 to August 30, 2025, if you are a post-secondary student
    • Be available to work from June 2025 to August 30, 2025, if you are a secondary student
    • Be familiar with MS Office
    • Be customer-service focused
    • Have strong verbal and written communication skills

 

**Preference will be given to students that have a permanent residency in Brampton.
