HOURLY RATE:  Year 1: $21.04

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Reporting to the Manager, Business Systems, assist the Transit Business Systems team with research, analysis, data collection, project administration and coordination, organization of resources and support functioning of transit systems. Support project and operations for business systems to plan, design, and manage the development, configuration and implementation activities of user requirements and identified issues including troubleshooting, testing and end user training.

  • Coordinates and implements technology projects to support and enhance program and service delivery including planning, feasibility, designing, implementing, operating, and monitoring business systems.
  • Gathers and translates business requirements and business processes into functional and technical specifications.
  • Provide feasibility and data analysis and integration to business systems for optimum functionality and configuration.
  • Supports project schedules, tracks status, and adapts and adjusts timelines and activities as required.
  • Ensures compliance with information technology standards and corporate policies and procedures as it pertains to ITS devices.
  • Participates in test plans development and review sessions, execution and coordination of tasks for team members and consultants.
  • Supports response to incident tickets and new requests and coordinates activities to resolve issues and implement new functionality.
  • Completes searches, inputs data, validates data, and generates reports and lists from programs and applications.
  • Maintains filing systems in accordance with corporate records management policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

 

             MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Student must be enrolled in any College or University Program/Co-Op. Proof of enrollment letter will be requested prior to job offer.
  • Ability to work outdoors

EDUCATION:

  • Post-secondary student with minimum two years of studies with focus on Information Technology, Computer Science and/ or Sustainability Technologies

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred knowledge and/or experience with network technologies, database architecture/query
  • Minimum one year work experience, preferably in office environment

OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:

  • Computer proficiency in Windows Desktop/Microsoft office/software
  • Able to exercise discretion and tact in sensitive and confidential situations
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fast learner, well organized, capable to work in a rapidly changing environment with deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • A current class G driver’s license in good standing
