  • Job Description

     

    Reporting to the Camp Director/Recreation Programmer/Recreation Coordinator, maintain a safe camp program environment through the proper administration of medication and first aid care to camp participants. Respond to first aid and medical emergencies and provide first aid care to camp participants.

     

    • Respond to first aid and medical emergencies and provide first aid care to camp participants
    • Provide exceptional customer service
    • Administer medication as required and according to Corporate Policy.
    • Complete open and close first aid checklists and maintain accurate inventory of supplies
    • Maintain accurate medication records for all campers required to take medication during camp hours
    • Utilize specialized equipment and apparatus
    • Learn and carefully follow the emergency safety procedures as established at facility
    • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (eg. attendance, incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures)
    • Maintain a safe and tidy work space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately
    • Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action
    • Assist program participants with daily needs and personal hygiene, if required
    • Assist with developing, delivering and documenting staff training and meetings
    • Prepare and submit a written end of season report commenting on strengths, weaknesses and participation
    • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
    • Attend meetings/training as required
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Flexible hours may include morning, evenings and/or weekends

     Selection Criteria:

    • Minimum 18 years of age
    • 2nd year nursing student
    • Experience working with Special Needs individuals and Health Care Provider (HCP) an asset
    • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C / AED from an accredited organization
    • Submit a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
    • Exceptional customer service and communication skills

     

    ** Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.

    Job status: Part time Job Type: Non-Union

    Hourly rate: $18.00
