    Position Duties:


    Under the direction of the Foreperson, Cemetery Services, responsible for the daily maintenance of the cemeteries owned and operated by the City of Brampton.


    • Turf maintenance including, fertilizing, cutting, seeding, watering, leaf removal and regarding;
    • Performs litter pick up in all cemeteries owned and operated by the City of Brampton;
    • Remove flowers from graves and change garbage barrels; 
    • Edge and Level existing Markers;
    • Assist with gardening including, soil management, preparing and planting of flowerbeds; 
    • Assist with pruning, fertilizing, preparing, and planting of shrubs and trees

     Minimum Qualifications:


    • Successfully completed grade 10;
    • A valid MTO Class “G1” or “G2” driver’s licence is an Asset;
    • 0 – 1 year of part time experience in the cemetery, landscaping, horticulture, farming or related experience;
    • Ability to wear and use required personal protective equipment and clothing and supply own CSA approved (green patch) 8” work boots;
    • Excellent customer service skills and demonstrates effective communication skills, both oral and written;
    • Must be a reliable team player, able to work with and without direct supervision;
    • Able to work outside in varying weather conditions (heat, wet) and perform physical work;
    • Able to work shift and weekend work, if required;
    • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C / AED from an accredited organization;
    • Submit a Criminal Record Check. 


    ** Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.
