Job Description



Provides administrative support to the Supervisors and Forepersons of the Parks Maintenance and Operations Division


Duties include some or all of the following: 

  • Responsible for the delivery of quality customer service through the efficient operation of the Customer Service System in the electronic recording, dispatching and closing of customer service requests, the telephone/paging/messaging system, and two-way radio communication;
  • Provides reception, receiving, sorting and preparing mail for dispatch and distribution of job posting notices;
  • Word processing and composing correspondence;
  • Provide support using the electronic accounts payable and time card data entry systems;
  • Data entry for the asset inventory systems;
  • Acts as back up to other clerical staff;
  • Meeting arrangements, such as coordination, minute taking, and distribution;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent;
  • Minimum six months to one year’s office experience / equivalent;
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communications skills both oral and written; ability to effectively deal with complaints and inquiries from the public;
  • Detail orientated with good mathematical skills;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Problem solving/conflict resolution with the ability to deal with confrontational situations;
  • High degree of initiative;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software;
  • Experience in IMS or Hansen 8 an asset;
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C / AED from an accredited organization;
  • Submit a Criminal Record Check.

** Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.
