Job Description

 

Position Duties:

Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator, supervise and maintain a safe, enjoyable environment for all users.

  • Responsible for safe and orderly loading and unloading of surface lifts
  • Assist with opening and closing the surface lifts including set up and take down of lift corrals and deceleration mats
  • Review of ramp areas of lifts, towlines, signage and ramps to approved standards
  • Supervise participants and maintain complete vigilance to minimize risks, and be ready to respond at all times
  • Ensure a safe and controlled dispatch of tubers
  • Ensure that the approved operating procedures are followed in accordance with the lift operations manual
  • Assist with checking participants are equipped with all mandatory equipment
  • Inform immediate supervisor of any unusual or improper occurrences within the operation of the assigned conveyor, or change in weather or ground conditions that may affect guests’ safety
  • Ensure that lift tickets and season passes are valid
  • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (i.e. log sheets, payroll, incident/accident reports)
  • Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action
  • Provide excellent customer service including explaining how to use the slopes safely
  • Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
  • Attend meetings/training as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Ability to work under adverse winter weather conditions
  • Able to handle physical demands of the job
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C / AED from an accredited organization
  • Submit or agree to a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
 ** Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.
